The Willows, redux

You got my take on this great story a little while back. Check out James Everington's thoughts on the same story - some very good points on how Blackwood stepped away from the haunted places of many weird tales and used the terror of the open, empty natural landscape instead. While you're there, have a read of all of James' series on strange stories - a really interesting and eclectic list so far, and not one limited to short stories either.
